Pentel
Formed in 1946 by Yokio Horie, Pentel Pens was initially based in Tokyo, Japan. In the first instance, the company concentrated on creating premium pastels and art materials, mainly aimed at creatives.
Their reputation for making superior pens came in 1963, when the company started making fibre tipped pens, initially intended for sign makers. Although this innovative pen didn't do too well in Japan initially, its introduction to the US at a trade fair prompted a surge in demand. This paved the way for Pentel's current position as one of the leading Japanese pen and pencil manufacturers.
Mechanical Pencils - a must for accurate drawing
Mechanical pencils have the advantage of delivering a consistent line width, regardless of the amount they're used. Ideal for technical drawings, diagrams or any form of precision work, mechanical pencils aren't just a joy to work with, they're also extremely low maintenance! Rather than the tiresome sharpening which is needed to keep traditional pencils working well, the lead of a mechanical pencil can be quickly and cleanly changed. The Pentel Graph Gear 1000 Mechanical Drafting Pencil, for example, comes with leads in a variety of widths and includes a textured grip for added ease of use. If you want optimal results for your detailed design work, a high-grade mechanical pencil is a necessity. If you need a technical recommendation for the right drafting or technical drawing pen, our expert customer care team can help.
