The Platinum Procyon fountain pen is the latest fountain pen series launched by Platinum and is the winner of ISOT 2019 Award. It is named after the brightest star in the constellation of Canis Minor, one of the 21 first magnitude stars.
The Procyon fountain pens inherited the "Slip & Seal Mechanism" from famous #3776 fountain pens. This feature prevents the ink from drying out, which is the main issue for traditional fountain pens. With the newly designed feeder, you can still fill your fountain pen when only a small amount of ink is left in the ink bottle.
The aluminium body provides a stylish looking, quality texture and brilliant weight balance for superb controlling when writing. The well-crafted stainless steel nib by Platinum offers you the smoothness of writing and durability.

I have loved platinum pens since I bought a desk pen of their's several years back, which is great but not pocket friendly. I've also enjoyed using their preppy pen, but I find it breaks a bit over time and needs fixing up. But buying this Procyon pen has meant I now have a great portable pen that is good for writing and drawing and has just the right weight and feel for me. It's well worth the money I feel for what you get and allows me to do sketches like this on the go.
AustraliaHard stretch to call this pen an orange shade (persimmon) as pictured. It is exactly salmon pink! Colour aside, I feel this is a most underrated pen. It's in a tough price point verging on getting into so called 'better' pens, but costing way more than entry level. It really is great to write with, the feel and weight are spot on & this platinum nib (F) is very smooth, actually surprisingly so as I was led to believe it is perhaps the finest of Japanese fines with some noticeable feedback. When the price is right I think it's an easy buy, when full retail it's tougher to recommend without reservation. For the price of a Pilot Prera I'd say it's a definite step up & I'd buy another colour. So, excellent pen, perhaps depending on the price.
